They also provide with business rental services and long-term renting commitment at the same time. Personally I feel, It is the most affordable way to hire a condensed car. Same goes for getting a van or truck hiring customers. A special occasion becomes extra special and luxurious if you hire an exotic car and still manage to keep some money saved in hand. Online renting services, has made it easier than it was before along with providing 24*7 service. Customers can get rates, available cars chart and booking dates with specific vehicle details, renting terms and conditions papers in hand long before the trip takes place. Along with it they can do a comparative study to select the best and cheapest car booking service.

The vehicle rental procedure doesn’t keep any hidden costs. On the contrary, it specifies taxes, insurance, stamp duties and other fees on the documents, so the tourists can make the payment without the fear of losing extra money. The best thing is, there is no charge in case of any changes or cancellations of booking. Even, there is no such system of prepayment. Traveler can pay the amount on the very date of delivery. It also covers the full package of insurance as an accident benefit.

The renting companies possess good number and modified version of vehicles to satisfy client’s exaction. A driver requires his driving license and credit card when he is ready to reserve a vehicle. Don’t Let Fear of Flying Ruin Your Gap Year

It’s the time of year when thoughts turn to summer travel. Perhaps you are in the process of finalising your plans, perhaps you’re still drawing up a short list of potential destinations? Or perhaps you’re one of the growing group of travellers who would be really looking forward to their holidays if it wasn’t for one thing.

Aviophobia!

FlightWhile your friends are excitedly discussing where they’ll be heading for their stint of voluntary work abroad all you’re worrying about is how you are going to muster up the courage to step on to the plane. Short of taking the circuitous route of ferry and cross country travel – which is feasible – the chances are that at some point, you will have to make that step.

You’re not alone. Some estimates suggest that between 10-40% of travellers experience some type of phobia. It’s especially common amongst younger people who have never flown before but there are measures you can take to minimise the stress.

Here are some of our suggestions that don’t include knock out drugs if you insist on growling: ‘there’s no way I’m getting on that plane fool!’

Practical Steps
Minimise stress on the day you travel by arriving in plenty of time for your flight. Always build in some contingency for delays in reaching the airport. Take a book or your Kindle and don’t forget your iPod. If you experience a delay to your flight – which isn’t an unusual occurrence – don’t be tempted to fill the time while you’re waiting with trips to the bar.

Don’t Drink!
Excessive alcohol won’t help. Not only will it exacerbate your fears it will leave you dehydrated, especially if you are heading out on a long-haul flight. Resist the pressure from fellow travellers to join them in a ‘chaser’ (especially if you’re taking an early morning flight). Trust me, you’ll be the one smiling when you reach your destination. If you really need something to help you to relax speak to your doctor about a potential sleeping pill.

Opt for a Direct Flight
It may cost a little more but it is worth it. You don’t need the added anxiety of wondering whether you are going to make your connecting flight. It’s double the waiting time, double the take-offs and landings and double the stress.

Bring Along Items For Comfort (including gum!)
Download some soothing, chill out music to your MP3 player and ask the flight attendant for a pillow and a blanket, especially on a long haul flight. As the altitude varies your ears may pop or feel slightly uncomfortable. Take along some gum to chew, it helps to relieve the pressure. The book or Kindle will come in handy again now.

Be Sociable
If you’re really stepping out of your comfort zone and travelling solo, strike up a conversation with fellow travellers. It will help to take your mind off things and you may even make some new friends. Just one note of caution – if the object of your attention remains taciturn despite all of your best efforts, accept that not everyone likes to talk. (Or you may have met someone as nervous as you!)

Don’t Worry About Turbulence
Turbulence is the jet stream that shakes the aeroplane a little or as one of my friends so helpfully described it, it’s the equivalent of driving over a pothole. It can actually reduce flight times in some cases which has to be a good thing doesn’t it?

Be Positive
Think about where you’re headed to, what you’re going to be doing while you’re away. If it’s a gap year trip, you’ll have lots to think about, the culture, the people, the work you might be doing. Why not start a journal of your time away or share your experiences on a blog? You’ll be amazed to find out just how many more people share your fear and you may even inspire a few of them.

Don’t let aviophobia ruin your travel plans. Remember that flying is the safest form of transport – much safer than driving. Plan your holiday and book your flight with confidence. Given time and flying experience you may even wonder what you were so worried about.

Airline Travel Tips for the Heathrow Traveller

Airplane travel is something one must learn to do efficiently. Taking journeys by plane for business or pleasure means that an air traveller will spend many hours in areas with other travellers. Time spent on an airplane can be uncomfortable without the necessary preparation.

airport parkingA traveller begins by booking the right flight and then handles other details, such as what to pack in hand baggage. Without a bit of planning, a traveller can spend a packet buying personal items airside from shops (such as those at Heathrow Airport).

The first consideration after picking one’s dates for a journey is the flight details. A traveller should book a flight on an airline offering the desired level of service and for which a good price can be found online or through a travel agent. For example, an airline should feature online check-in so as to avoid check-in queues. Flight times must leave a traveller ample time to make it through security screening.

Another decision is whether to fly non-stop or on a flight with one or more layovers. More than one layover seems to be more than the average traveller will bear. For travellers who can pay for more than a coach ticket, there are more options — flying business class or first class. Going with first class means a traveller will be seated in a more exclusive section of the plane in a roomier seat, will be disturbed by fewer passengers, and will get more frequent service from airline attendants.

Finally, a traveller should consider other costs such as how to secure Heathrow parking  and how to hire a car or another form of ground transportation and accommodations for the journey.

After travel arrangements are made, an air passenger should plan what to pack in hand baggage to feel comfortable on her journey, especially on long flights and flights with lengthy layovers. Any flight with a built-in layover creates a potential for flight delays in addition to flight delays occurring during the first flight.

A traveller should keep handy a flight ticket and official travel documents (such as a passport). In the bag, it’s best to pack toiletries in the event a flight is delayed, including a change of clothes, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a travel size shampoo, and a travel size deodorant. According to UK regulations, each liquid must be less than 100 ml and all liquids must fit in a single re-sealable bag.

A germ-conscious traveller should consider what preventive measures are needed on the plane and whilst waiting in airport lounges, especially if she has overlooked arriving early to get Heathrow airport  parking. It’s wise to include hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, a travel pillow, and a light blanket. Some travellers might need to pack a contact lens case and cleaning solution. A traveller should only pack what is needed and avoid packing extra items.

If you are flying from Heathrow airport , be sure to look at the Heathrow parking facilities.

The Economic Impact of a Heathrow Airport Expansion

Heathrow airport in west London is the world’s busiest international travel hub with more than 67 million passengers passing through every year.

AirplaneWhen the UK Government approved the building of Terminal 5 in 2001 it had followed the longest ever public inquiry into the planning of a building project. It came at a time when the Airport was getting close to its capacity and something had to be done to cope with the steady year-on-year increase in passenger numbers.

At the beginning of April 2012 the airport held a “topping out” ceremony for its Games Terminal which will be the key departure point for athletes leaving the city in the summer. There had been plans for a third runway at the airport but the Government rejected the idea. It had been long debated with arguments on both sides always coming to an impasse.

It had also been rumoured for months that the Government was about to make a U-turn on its decision, but it was reported that it was just that, a rumour, supposedly spread by the aviation industry to attempt to overturn the decision.

Opposition Pressure

Despite the Government sticking to its judgement there is still pressure from opposition politicians and the aviation industry, pleading the case for a third runway or they could risk thousands of jobs.

With a spike in emerging markets the airport, along with the other airports in the south-east of England, the ability to handle air traffic is going to hit capacity, and if nothing is done about it major carriers will take their business elsewhere.

Benefit to the Economy

A study commissioned by BAA, the company which owns Heathrow Airport estimated that by 2021 the UK would miss out on 141,000 jobs and an annual gross domestic product of more than £8 billion.

The Heathrow hotel industry would benefit hugely from the increase in passenger numbers who would be using airport. The geographical location of London makes it the best connected city in the world, ideally located for traffic travelling east and west, and as a connection going in both directions.

All businesses working in and around the airport would benefit, but one of the biggest concerns expressed by opponents of a third runway are for people who live near Heathrow suffering further air and noise pollution.

A Possible Alternative

Some politicians have suggested that an airport built in the Thames estuary could be built, but supporters of the Heathrow plan claim that such a project is not feasible and it is nothing more than a distraction from the real issue, that stalling on the Heathrow proposal will have a devastating effect on the local economy.

However, bosses at some of England’s other airports claim that there is no need for more runways in the south-east and that airports such as Stansted and Birmingham are nowhere near capacity and are more than capable of dealing with increased air traffic in and out of the UK.

Both sides will have to come up with a sensible solution to the problem before the capacity problems in the region become unmanageable and the potential for maintaining and creating thousands of jobs worth billions of pounds is lost.

3 Ways To Stay Stress-Free By Booking An Airport Transfer

Whether your idea of a perfect holiday is to jet off to a far away island and bask for two weeks on a sun-kissed beach or it’s to take a short flight across the Channel to one of the continent’s bustling cities, it’s going to be an enjoyable and relaxing break.

However, there’s very often at least one aspect that can add a touch of stress to any holiday, with the aspect for many being apparent before they’ve even reached their hotel – getting from the airport.

Taxi.  Bus.  Train.  Hire Car.  Even walking.  In a foreign destination, they can all cause unnecessary stress and these three reasons explain why you can kick off your holiday completely stress-free by booking a dedicated airport transfer.

1.   You don’t need a map

Or a sat nav.  Or a knowledge of the local area.  Or the ability to understand the local language – you simply get off your plane, pick up your luggage and jump into the waiting airport transfer.

Hiring a car in any destination can be an enjoyable and interesting experience, but it can also be one of the most difficult, especially if you’ve never been to the destination before.  Not only do you have to adjust to your surroundings, but you have to pick up the rules of the road immediately – and feel comfortable driving your family to your destination in a foreign country, which can often mean on the opposite side of the road to what you’re used.

2.   You get taken straight to your door

Just like taxis and buses, private airport transfers will take you straight to your accomodation, whether that’s a hotel in the middle of a bustling city or a villa on the top of a steep hill.

Unlike taxis and buses, however, there are no lengthy queues for your airport transfer, you don’t have to spend an age working out which bus you need to be on at what time and you can guarantee there’ll always be someone there to pick you up.

3.   You know how much you’re going to pay

Everyone has a holiday budget.  For some, it might be a few hundred pounds and for others it could be hundreds of thousands of pounds, but everyone has one.

And unless you’re one of those people who can afford to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds, you’re going to be ensuring you budget properly and effectively.

For getting to and from the airport, transfers are without doubt the best option when it comes to budgeting, as unlike a hire car, where you have fuel charges or a taxi, which could see you taking any route the driver likes, you know exactly how much it’s going to cost to get from the airport to the door of your hotel.

What’s more, you pay up front, meaning you don’t have to worry about finding the right amount of cash as soon as you step off the plane.

Holidays are the time of the year when you truly relax and to ensure you kick off your holiday in the most stress-free way possible, airport transfers can provide the least hassle when it comes to departing the plane and being welcomed at your hotel.
